Sarasota County is a state and national leader in developing progressive and effective policies to facilitate sustainability in our community.

Sarasota County Procurement Code 03-084 (November 2003)
The first county procurement code in the U.S. to include Environmentally-Preferable Purchasing language encouraging the. See page 12.

Golf Course Management Ordinance 03-069 (August 2003)
Set standards for land management, water conservation and pollution prevention on golf courses and driving ranges.

Sustainability Resolution 02-119 (May 2002)
Established Sarasota County's commitment to sustainability and initiated the Sustainable Sarasota program.

Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance 01-081(November 2001)
Established water-efficient landscaping standards for all new development.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Resolution 95-121 (June, 1995)
Mandates Environmental Landscape Management and low-toxic pest control practices for all Sarasota County Government facilities.
