If you would like to make a difference in Sarasota County by working for sustainability, please contact us about volunteer opportunities. Volunteer activities range from administrative tasks, such as filing, to writing educational materials and newsletters to managing long-term community projects.
We are looking for individuals with a background or interest in
• Environmental Education • Environmental Research • Graphic Design • Marketing / Promotions • Newsletter Writing • Technical Writing • Web Development

Other Opportunities: Hands-on volunteer experiences are available through other county programs. Call the Florida House at 941-316-1200 for information on the Master Conservationist volunteer program or Cooperative Extension at 941-861-9800 for information on the Master Gardener volunteer program.
Student Internships
High school or college students or recent graduates are invited to join Sustainable Sarasota as interns. Students choose from a variety of projects related to their academic coursework. A commitment of at least one semester, of an average of 12 hours weekly, is required for an internship.
Credit can be provided through local colleges with permission of faculty Sustainable Sarasota has a strong partnership with New College of Florida faculty and alumnae/i.
